We tried our best to keep busy with activities during the long cold winter months.
Jade continued indoor soccer and opted for the weekly scrimmages this session instead of the skills classes. It was a good learning experience for her as the teams were coed and her U10 age group was combined with the U12 age group! Both Grammy & Grampy and Grandma & Grandpa were so sweet to come cheer on Jade at a couple of her games!
Jemma continued her gymnastics classes and both girls took an art class at our local art studio. We also stayed busy with the Girl Scout cookie selling season as well as in person meetings and activities (finally)!
I got the opportunity to chaperone Jemma's first ever field trip to Naper Settlement. I went on this same field trip with Jade's class when she was in second grade! It was freezing, but so glad I was able to do this with her!
Jade's class was doing a unit with the Naperville Police Department, and I was asked to participate in a secret class activity! I had to dress up in a disguise and sneak into the classroom, steal the officer's bag from a chair and run back into the hallway! The class then discussed what the "suspect" looked like and tried to remember as many details they could. I then came back in the room for them to see if my appearance matched their descriptions. Afterward, Jade got to come up front and "unmask me". She was so surprised and had no idea it was me!
Jade had a few of her art projects selected to be on display at the District 203 Art Show at the Naperville Municipal Center. She was so excited to show us!
Nate and I also got to go out for a birthday date! Dinner at Mission BBQ and mini golf at Puttshack!
