Can't help but laugh

I love Jade's ability to make me laugh. She is always doing something silly and I just can't help but smile. While playing in the backyard this evening, Jade noticed that some rainwater had accumulated in the empty sandbox portion of her climber. She was insistent on playing with it, which is fine because we usually fill it with water for her to play with on a warm day, but tonight she kept trying to drink it. While I was grossed out as there was all kinds of debris floating in it, I drained it out to remove the temptation  Next thing I know, Jade is laying down trying to taste the drained water puddled on the deck!! I quickly stopped her as it was disgusting, however I also found it hilarious and had to share! This girl knows what she wants and will do whatever it takes to get it! :)

Love her and her crazy antics

Getting so good at climbing up and going down the slide by herself

Feeling like a big girl!

Little angel..hard to believe this is the same girl who was licking the deck a few minutes prior, in a dress nonetheless

Puzzles

Just like her momma, Jade loves doing puzzles. Here's a little video of Jade doing one of her puzzles (minus the piece that is unreachable under the couch) this evening.

A day at the zoo

Today we were finally able to take advantage of our Brookfield Zoo membership. Jade loves animals, so we were so excited to take her. It was so cute seeing her get excited when she saw the animals. Her favorite animals seemed to be the giraffes and fish (probably because they blended into their habitats the least and she could actually see them).

Love this picture

14 Months

Jade Marie: 14 Months

Finally, a warm day! Jade loved her swimming pool. She especially enjoyed when I got in with her and sang 'Ring Around the Rosie'

Hard to believe this is the same girl who less than two months ago would not have touched sand or walked barefoot in the grass!

Jade has totally hit that next stage of toddler-hood. There are so many things she can identify, including several shapes and zoo/farm animals. She's also understanding a lot of things I ask her, including bringing things to me, finding something when I ask where it is and going to her changing table when she needs her diaper changed. Also, she has become extremely selective in what foods she eats. Up until recently, she would eat just about anything that was put in front of her. Now she picks the tomatoes out of her tomato and cheese quesadillas, spits out her broccoli and green beans if a piece gets into her mouth and throws unwanted items off her high chair. Also this month, both of Jade's top molars broke through and she started her first class at the park district.
