Feels like Fall

It's been a nice change having Nate home in the evenings! I love that we can do late afternoon activities together, eat dinner together and put the kids to bed together. This is something we haven't had very often over the last few years, and will probably not last much longer. So we're enjoying it while it lasts.

One day last week we were all feeling a bit restless. Nate came up with the idea of going for a walk and collecting leaves. Jade was not super interested in the idea, until I added when we got home we could use the glue stick and glue our leaves to pieces of paper! She was so super excited! Here are a few pictures from our stroll!

The Children's Farm

On Sunday we went to the Children's Farm with Nate's mom and dad. They have a super cute petting zoo, which Jade absolutely loved, and they offered a hayride out to their pumpkin field where we were able to pick a pumpkin. Jade was not impressed with the large pumpkins in the field and preferred the tiny pre-picked ones that she could carry! Jemma slept nearly the entire time we were there, minus a break to eat!

Carthage Visit

Last Saturday Nate and I went up to Carthage for the Homecoming football game. The team was celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their Conference Championship win (first time since sometime in the 1970's) and trip to the National Playoffs for the first time in the College's history. Over 70 members of the 2004 team were there to walk the field prior to the game and be announced during half time!

We got up there early and had breakfast at an old favorite Kenosha Diner, The Coffee Pot.

The guys!

Nate being announced!

We had such a fun day, alone! :)

This was our first time leaving Jemma with a "babysitter". A big thanks to my mom and dad for letting us get out for the day. The kids had a blast!

Jade and Jemma Update

We were able to combine Jade's two and a half year and Jemma's one month checkup into one visit this week. Both girls checked out great and I loved saving a trip to the doctor's office.

Jade weighed 33.4 lbs and measured 37.5 inches tall (still rocking the 90th percentile for height and weight). She got to wear a gown for her checkup and had her flu shot in her nose, in the form of a spray. Eek, when did she get so old?? Jade also said goodbye to her nap/bedtime pacifier this week. She had a little trouble with it for the first nap, but has been doing great ever since! The Puppy Surprise she got in exchange didn't hurt either! ;)

Jemma weighed in at 9 lbs and measured 21.5 inches long. I can't remember where she fell for length, but is in the 26th percentile for weight. Not much has changed with Jemma since my one month post. She is giving us a 6-8 hour chunk of sleep most nights, has started to make cooing sounds and is a total sweetheart!

The Apple Orchard

A little late coming, but wanted to share a few pictures from our morning at the apple orchard a few weeks ago. It was an unseasonably warm day for apple picking and there were quite a few bees, but nonetheless, we had a great time! :)

On the hayride out to the orchard!

Happy to find some apples low enough for her to reach!

Jemma was not too impressed with apple picking, and instead enjoyed a nap!

Eating apples is much more fun than picking them, especially when you get to walk around while eating it.
