Christmas 2019

Santa Visit

For the second year in a row, we visited Santa at the Santa House in Downtown Naperville! We had such a fun evening looking at lights and enjoying dinner at Blue Sushi Saki Grill!

Class Parties

I got to help out in Jemma's class for their Winter Party! I loved so much seeing and meeting all the kids she's been talking about the last few months!

Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa

On December 21st we had a wonderful celebration with Nate's mom and dad! They came over early and opened presents! We then had an amazing spiral ham lunch (prepared by Nate)! We spent the rest of the day playing with new toys before heading to the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL for a Santa train ride!

Christmas Lights

As usual, we drove around Naperville looking at some of our favorite light displays! This year we added a Scavenger Hunt. The girls compiled a list of Christmas theme items to try to find in the displays! We also stopped at McDonalds for our traditional milkshakes and fries!

Christmas Eve

We decided to simplify our Christmas Day this year, and moved to an alternating schedule of family celebrations. As a result, we invited Nate's extended family over to our house during the day for an informal brunch! We had casseroles, bagels, fruit and pastries! Everyone was able to come and go as their schedule allowed, we were so blessed that so many were able to come!

After everyone left, we went to Church and ordered Domino's pizza for dinner! The girls put out milk and cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer, too!

Christmas Day

We started the morning with presents, breakfast and a lot of playing before we headed out to my Aunt Mar's house! We spent the day there, stuffed ourselves with lasagna and meatballs, opened presents and then headed to the nursing home to spend some time with my Grandpa! The weather was so nice, the kids were even able to spend some time at the park near my Aunt Mar's house!

Christmas with Grammy and Grampy

Early morning on the 26th, we headed to my parents house, where my sister and her family were staying! Grammy made breakfast and then we spent the day opening gifts and playing! We wrapped up the day with dinner at Nick's Pizza, one of my favorite traditions!

Obermayer Family Christmas

The "27th" has always been one of my favorite celebrations! Sad to miss our cousins and their kids this year, but we had a wonderful day spending time with my Aunt's and Uncles and my 92 year old Grandma!

Chicago Botanic Gardens

Lastly, Nate and I were able to go out on a double date with our friends Katie and Dave on the 28th! We had dinner at Cooper's Hawk and then went to see the lights at the Chicago Botanic Gardens! It was so beautiful and such a fun evening!

See you in 2020!
