Although the weather doesn't feel like summer is coming to an end, it sure is starting to get dark earlier and earlier each day, which definitely makes it feel like its coming to an end for me. We've been making the best of the weather and getting in a few more things before we are confined to indoor activities! Nate worked both of his jobs on Labor Day, so Jade and I went to Crystal Lake for the day and played at the Three Oaks beach with my mom! This was Jade's first time on a beach/lake and she loved it! She had no fear of the water and wanted to run out where it gets deeper like the big kids!
Ready to play
A little ice cream on the swim break
Last night, Jade had her first negative encounter with a bee. Nate and I were eating dinner on the deck while Jade was playing (our food must have been attracting the bees) when all of a sudden Jade come running over to me crying and holding out her hand. Sure enough, she was holding a bee and had been stung on the palm of her hand. Nate got the stinger out very quickly and we washed her hand, but let me tell you, trying to get a one year old to hold on an ice pack is not an easy task. Luckily, she didn't have an allergic reaction or anything, and woke up with no puffiness or redness the next morning! Here is a picture of the little trooper holding her Minnie Mouse boo boo pack.
Bring on jeans, scarves, boots and colorful leaves! We are ready for fall!!
Cute beach pics! Gotta have ice cream! :)
