Fourth of July Weekend

We kicked off the "weekend" with a day at Ribfest. It was HOT, that's about all I have to say about it! ;) The kids had unlimited wristbands for rides and enjoyed going on a few rides with some of Jade's friends from school who were also there! The girls enjoyed some ice cream and Nate and I sampled some ribs from a couple vendors!

The next day was July 4th! The girls and I had a fun day at home staying cool with various water activities and popsicles. Nate had to work, so the girls and I camped out at a less crowded local park for a decent view of the Naperville Fireworks!

Not exactly Independence Day related, but the next day the girls and I rode the Metra a few stops, and checked out a super fun park and snow cone stand!

We wrapped up the weekend at the Crystal Lake Lakeside Festival with Grammy! We took advantage of the unlimited ride wristbands, had ice cream and the girls got their faces painted!

Start to Summer: June

Warning, long post ahead!!!

Summer 2019 has been off to a great start! We've been busy with various camps and lots of activities! Here are some highlights!

We had a blast wandering around Downtown Naperville trying to find all 20 of the"Painted Dog" statues! As you can see, we found them all!

We did one of our favorite things, trying out a new park! This one is Harvester Park in Burr Ridge!

The girls have been having fun hanging out at various houses around our circle!

The girls have swimming lessons every Saturday! Somehow, the weather has cooperated for them all so far!

Both girls participated in their first camp of the summer! Jemma's was a Jump Start Kindergarten camp at her old Pre-School and Jade's was an Elementary Fit Camp, also held at the Pre-School! Both girls had such a fun week, and I loved that the camps were at the same time! :)

We also had a super fun combined celebration day with Gee Gee! We celebrated Mother's Day, my Birthday and Father's Day with a great dinner at Outback!

Jemma attended Safety Town Camp! They learned all kinds of things about Police, Fire, Bus, and Electrical safety and more! Jemma had such a fun time, and loved showing Jade and I around town on the last day! We celebrated her "graduation" with ice cream!

The girls had a sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa and redeemed Jade's Birthday gift, which was a trip to Legoland. They had so much fun, and Nate and I even got out for date night!

The girls both got much needed haircuts and Jade got her ear re-pierced! It had closed up 2 summers ago after being infected, so this was long overdue!

On our camp free week, we wrapped up June with our "Week of Fun"

Wednesday was Strawberry picking with Grammy!

Thursday was a trip to Splash Island in Oak Brook. First time there, the girls had a blast at the splash pad and indoor pool!

Friday was a visit to Hollywood Palms to see Toy Story 4. The girls loved the reclining seats just about as much as the movie. ;)

Saturday was a trip to "Seashell Island" and Dairy Queen! Jade had the best time collecting all kinds of shells and treasurers!

Sunday was church followed by an evening bowling date with the girls and some of our friends!

Monday was a visit to one of the girls favorite parks from our Naperville Park Adventure in 2017. They also got to swim in our neighbors pool that afternoon!

Tuesday Nate wrapped up our week of fun (while I was at work) by taking the girls to Dellwood Park in Lockport! It was hot, but the girls loved it so much!

Whew, that was a busy month! We can't wait for more fun in July!
