Starting 2023

The girls kept busy this winter with lots of activities!

Jemma took several sessions of basketball skills classes on Saturdays and really took a liking to it! She also added a weekly tumbling class in addition to her weekly gymnastics class. She was so excited to finally move up in gymnastics to Intermediate!

Parents were not allowed to stay at Basketball, so I don't have any pictures of that! Also, it's almost impossible to get good pictures at gymnastics. I was able to take this video of Jemma working on her back handspring.

Jade kept busy with soccer through the winter and did weekly team training with a club team. She was offered a spot on the team for spring, which she was super excited about! She also did a volleyball league through the Woodridge Park District which offered weekly practices and games! It was so fun to watch her improve throughout the season!

Jade was so happy to have Grammy and Grampy and Grandma and Grandma at some of her games, too!

Jade had a piece of her artwork selected again this year to be on display as part of the Naperville 203 Art Show! We had fun going downtown Naperville to the Municipal building to see it!

We got to see my niece Cora perform her dance solo when she came to Chicago for a dance competition. She did SO SO good!

The 5th grade band had their first spring concert! Jade is continuing to enjoy playing her flute and has currently passed the 2nd most songs amongst the 5th grade flute players.

We celebrated Nate's Birthday with our family favorite, Dairy Queen!

The 5th graders put on a show that they helped create. It was full of music, poems and dances written and choreographed by the students. Jade chose to play her flute for her part.

The girls both had fun events for Girl Scouts in March. Jade's troop took a self defense class and got to break boards which they were super excited about.

Jemma's troop went to a local kids theater and put on a production of the Wizard of Oz. Jemma was the scarecrow! :)

Phew, we made it to Spring Break!!!

End of the Year Wrapup

November was a quiet month for us as the girls seemed to constantly be battling sickness. We were sick on Thanksgiving this year and had to stay home! My mom packed up an entire Thanksgiving dinner for us and she and my dad delivered it to our door! SO thankful for them!!

We put up our Christmas tree the weekend after Thanksgiving, and while not everyone was back to themselves 100 percent, we still had a lot of fun and served up our traditional snacks!

We went to see the lights in Downtown Naperville and had a fun dinner at Blue Sushi.

We celebrated Christmas the week before with Grandma and Grandpa!

We drove around and looked at some crazy cool Christmas lights!

We met up in the middle of a blizzard on the 23rd with my sister's family, my parents and my Aunt Mar at Portillo's!

We went to church on Christmas Eve followed by dinner at our favorite pizza place, Little Italian. We wrapped up the evening watching Rudolph and putting out milk and cookies for Santa!

On Christmas Day we spent the morning opening gifts and relaxing before heading over to Nate's cousin Brian's house for their extended family Christmas party!

The next day we headed out to Crystal Lake to celebrate with Grammy and Grampy and the Baum's!

On the 27th we got to see my Grandma (GeeGee). We took her to lunch at Portillo's and then went back to her house where she opened some gifts!

I wrapped out the year with a much needed spa day and overnight in Lake Geneva with my girl friends Lauren and Katie! Can't believe we've been friends for over 20 years!

Cheers to 2023!
