Swimming Lessons

Finally got Jade enrolled for her first round of swimming lessons at Sea Lion Aquatic Park in Lisle! She was really excited and got right in the water with her class without a problem. She had a little trouble following direction the first day, but did much better on day two!

Just snapped a few pictures during the lesson. They aren't great because they ask us to sit back a bit so the kids aren't distracted. 

I can't wait to see Jade improve. Right now she is very timid and a little unsure about this whole floating/putting her face in the water thing! :)

Gymnastics

This week was medal week at gymnastics. Jade was so excited about getting her gold medal and is convinced that wearing it makes her stronger. Today she greeted me at the door when I got home from the store, so I asked her if she could help carry a bag in for me. She paused and said "wait mommy, I need to get my gold medal first." Too cute!

I love seeing her improve and get stronger each week. I was hoping by the end of the session she would be able to do a somersault on her own and sure enough, she did it! 

I will continue to do the parent-tot class with Jade through the summer and then I'm hoping she will be ready to move up to the 3 year old (non parent) class!

Jemma - 9 Months

Nine things I want to remember about you at 9 months!

1. Your first tooth finally popped through

2. You love taking baths in the big bathtub with Jade

3. You are no longer stationary, and army crawl and scoot to get what you want

4. You cry and babble mama just about every time I leave the room

5. You are finally interested in finger foods and have enjoyed cheerios, puffs, watermelon, fruit loops & black beans

6. You're a little bit mischievous

7. You can wave, sometimes

8. You love your paci

9. You weigh 19 lbs 12.5 oz and are 28.25 inches tall

Fun in the sun

Thursday was perhaps the nicest day so far this year, sunny and 85 degrees! We spent a good part of our day at a new park/splash pad with our good friends Katie and Owen! The kids had a blast playing together and I had a blast catching up with Katie!

Sis must have been tired after lunch because the second go 'round was a no-go! She fell asleep the minute we got in the car! :)

Sisterly Love

Every day I see the bond between these two grow and grow! All I wanted was a cute picture of them sitting on the swing together in their matching outfits and instead a ridiculous amount of cuteness ensued!

Mother's Day

We got to have a very special Mother's Day celebration with my parents and grandma last weekend (Saturday) with lunch at Texas Roadhouse and dessert at Culvers.

Then Nate and the kids surprised me with a day at the nail salon for a mani/pedi on Mother's Day. They also got me a kit to make a keepsake stepping stone! We enjoyed making that together later that evening! It turned out just perfect and it's now displayed in our front landscaping!

Jemma - 8 Months

Eight things I want to remember about you at 8 months!

1. You don't throw yourself back when you are done sitting anymore ;)

2. You successfully transitioned to sleeping without your swaddle without skipping a beat

3. You gag every time you are given a solid piece of food (puff, pea, noodle) to name a few, however you ate a goldfish cracker without issue

4. You seem to enjoy your baby food more (as long as we tell you it's apples or bananas)

5. You scoot yourself backwards when on your tummy and often end up under something or in the corner

6. You do not have any teeth but continually chew on everything

7. You love to snuggle and can still fall asleep in my arms

8. Your chubby thighs and cheeks
